The Silent One (Film Study)

Published December 2, 2011 by electricbluegaloo

The Silent One is the 1984 film about a baby who washes up on the beach of a South Pacific Island.

This film is perfect for exploring themes such as prejudice, loyalty, friendship and betrayal.

It also has excellent examples of characterisation, plot and setting.

I have included teaching notes for a study of some of these themes aimed at Stage 3.

The story has aspects which would be an excellent accompaniment to a study of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
