My Reading Challenge

Published July 14, 2012 by electricbluegaloo

In this exciting National Year of Reading it seems fitting that I should set myself a challenge to broaden my reading horizons.  It has taken my 6 months to come up with a suitable challenge that I would enjoy, yet be genuinely outside the boundaries of my comfy reading zone.  My mid-year resolution is to read more books by Indigenous authors. My challenge will be a little more flexible than reading only Indigenous authors till the end of the year.  I think if can read one a month, six in total, by the end of the year I will call myself successful, and I believe it will be a trend that will continue.

    • I hadn’t seen the post. Thanks for sharing. I haven’t made a to read list as yet, but this is a great place to start. Southerly published a volume of Indigenous writers earlier in the year so I thought I might read a bit more of that and follow up any writers from there that I enjoyed reading, and of course Magabala Books.
